THE FUSE LINK also is the fuse elements. is the replaceable portion of the fuse cutout that will melt and diconnect the circuit with its own heat when there is overcurrent went through it. The fuse link is the key element to control the fuse characteristics. The material, size and shape of the fuse link determine the melt properties. fuse link materials are divided into two categories: low melting point and high melting point. Low melting point materials such as lead and lead alloy, its melting point is low and easy to fuse, because of its high resistivity, so made of a large cross section size, more metal vapor produced during the melting, only suitable for the low breaking capacity of the fuse cutout. High melting point materials such as copper, silver, its melting point is high, not easy to fuse, but because of its low resistivity, can be made than the low melting point of smaller cross section size, less metal vapor produced during the melting, suitable for high breaking capacity of the fuse cutout . The shapes of fuse link are either filamentous or banded. Changing the shape of the variable section can significantly change the melt characteristics of the fuse cutout. Fuse cutouts have various melted characteristic curves and can be applied to different types of protection objects.
